The Infected

The Infected are people who have just become infected with the Zombie virus, they are still very much alive but are now the victim of a rapidly acting and fatal organism. There is no hope for these people and they should be avoided, if you believe someone you know has been infected keep your distance from them keep them locked in a room or otherwise incapacitated.

• The first signs of infection will be watery eyes, runny nose, respiratory distress and fever.
• Delusional paranoia will quickly set in, some people have been known to be able to fight the early stages of delusion but most people will turn violent or desperate. Bodily fluids will begin to darken and the infected person will begin to sweat allot.
• A thick dark mucus build up in the throat and stomach is to be expected halfway through the infection, it will cause heavy coughing and vomiting. The infected will suffer high a fever and become desperate and more delusional. This is what makes the infected so dangerous, they are aggressive, single minded and highly infectious.
• Towards the end of the infection as the person is dieing, they will become much sicker, the vomiting and spiting will stop as they become more and more dehydrated they will be visibly thinner.
• Throughout the entire infection stage they will gradually lose their intelligence, in the beginning they will become easily confused and easily agitated. Gradually they will lose the ability to recognize friends and relatives, their ability to preform common tasks will diminish to the point they don't seem to recognize door handles or have the mental capacity to use the simplest tools.

AS far as we can tell, there is no definitive moment when the infected become Zombies, it is a gradual decay into death.

It should always be remembered that any stranger could be in the early stages of infection, they may not even know they are infected.
